Totally Limited Trout

Just got my notice from Trout Unlimited about river closures and fishing restrictions, a now annual event. Though this may be the earliest in memory. When there is only one trout left in Montana they will be saying, yes, we know climate change is the problem and therefore we must conserve even harder. Unable to think, much less act, structurally, they believe in individual solutions like catch and release. Volunteer to plant some willows. Call your "representative". Whatever. Like good frogs, we slowly boil with barely a shrug. All this talk of "meeting the Paris goals" is indicative of how delusional we truly are. We are all at the Mystic Summer camp, listening to the pounding of the rain on the roof, trying to recall the evacuation plan, pulling the pillow over our heads. After the destruction we head to church and praise the first responders. Watch a president tour the ruins, over and over and over again. Chide those plaing the "blame game". I wonder if Trout Unlimited did conservation work on the Guadalupe River? The point of all this obfuscation is the desperate attempt to save capitalism from itself. As an ideology, it's legitimacy hinges on making all other systems look like hellscapes. As a form of production it hinges on providing cheap consumer goods and credit to the masses and luxury for the elites. This is why China is such a threat; the people seem relatively happy and they are totally annihilating neoliberal capitalist countries in economic terms. Now the capitalists are directing their ire at poor Cuba. So sick, so pathetic, so American.
